The ICS Team

Manufacturers of Pump Casings, Pump Systems and Individual Pump Parts

Whatever it takes, ICS delivers

Dual forklifts demonstrate ICS Wear Group teamwork.

It takes a terrific team to build a family business into a company capable of serving heavy industry on two continents. ICS Wear Group Inc. has served the industrial sectors in North and South America for almost two decades, ably handling every challenge, from development of new products to the creation and delivery of a massive concrete casting that requires a two-forklift team to load and deliver (shown above and at right.).

We do whatever it takes to keep our customers operating. As International Castings and Supplies Ltd. and then ICS Wear Group, we have built a solid reputation for integrity, service and honest value. We pride ourselves on outstanding customer service and maintaining long-term customer relationships by doing whatever it takes to keep your business in operation. No matter how much we've grown, we've never forgotten our roots as a family business serving valued clients who deserved our best.

For almost two decades, we've given timely repairs, precision fabrication, and technical innovation. Now we're giving more, with the development of a new line of advanced slurry pumps and replacement parts.

Our new ICS-HD Keto Slurry Pump Pump, ICS pump systems, and individual pump parts are based on decades of experience with heavy industry plus more than two centuries of combined experience in engineering, tribology (the study of wear), and slurry pump development. We've devoted an additional 18 months of focused development into building, testing and modifying these improved systems, drawing on our knowledge and feedback from our clients.

We can now offer you replacement parts for all your "AH" applications and a complete line of pumps and parts, up to 20 by 18 inch systems. Features of our new systems include:

  • Increased efficiency, power and longer operating life;
  • Designed to fit within the same footprint as your current "AH" system for an easier upgrade;
  • Guaranteed in-stock parts available year-round; and
  • Replacement Warman Parts and pump systems that will fit within your current "AH" pump, so you can obtain increased performance without replacing your entire pump.

Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality of pumps and parts. ICS will also continue research and development into new solutions, including our current development of a maintenance-free bearing assembly.

Meet our Experts

Development of our new products draws heavily on the expertise of founding engineer Mark Pipke and engineer John Gillender.

Mark Pipke, Founder of International Castings & Supplies Ltd. - now ICS Wear Group - graduated from BCIT (BC Institute of Technology) in metallurgical engineering with a specialty in draftsmanship. His experiences working in Texada Mine and the Island Copper Mine as a metallurgist and as a top salesman for Norcast Inc., provided the foundation for branching out on his own and establishing International Castings & Supplies in 1993.

With more than 35 years of experience within the mining sector, Mark’s expertise includes designing new products/patterns, draftsmanship, wear and metallurgical specialties, and effective salesmanship.

Our clients benefit from Mark's at-a-glance solutions. He could look at a failed product and redesign it in such a way that it became fail-proof. His solutions included recommending a new alloy to reduce wear, machining a component within the product to better handle a stress point, or adding components to the product to make it more user-friendly.

His expertise is also recognized by his peers. Mark Pipke served as Chairman of Wear Materials for the B.C. Mining Association and also wrote the "Development of Wear Materials" handbook.

His experience in many sectors of the industry - including potash, copper mines, gold mines, coal, pulp and paper and concrete - give him the real-world experience to create workable, cost-effective solutions. Whether at a mine site ,inside a ball mill to analyze wear issues, or at his desk designing new ideas, Mark’s talents and innovations were always focused on giving better customer service. This commitment to helping our clients succeed formed the foundation of ICS Wear Group Inc. It is a commitment we still uphold.

John Gillender completed his education through the British apprenticeship system, qualifying as a mechanical designer and machinist. His engineering expertise includes gear applications, hydraulics, system design, lubricants, plastics, and tribology, the study of wear. For the past forty-five years, he has studied how machinery wears out, defining the effects of abrasion, corrosion and repeated impacts. He has worked around the world in mining operations, particularly the extraction of placer gold. He has also turned his expertise to the pulp and paper industry, marine industry, and materials handling.

As a certified engineer, project manager, and site manager, John is an information resource for many of our clients. His expertise in tribology allows him to answer many questions about the impact of wear on equipment. He applies the same knowledge when testing new equipment or dealing with on-site challenges. He can often provide solutions to critical issues, thus ensuring efficient operation of your business and reducing unplanned down time.
