Custom-designed by ICS, these elbows increased service life
by 27 per cent over the original equipment manufacturer's
components. ICS changed the wall thickness and used a better alloy to produce a superior component.

Our most valuable service may be our ability to combine knowledge with our fabrication shop, to create custom solutions for specific site challenges. Our expertise in equipment wear issues allows us to identify causes of premature equipment wear and failure, and then devise customized components or solutions to address the problem.

One example is our re-design of drill tips for a diamond mine. Created from a new alloy, these redesigned tips improved product life by an amazing 300 percent, allowing significantly longer operation of drills before replacement was required.

The ICS Wear Group team has more than two centuries of combined experience in mining and heavy industry. Company founder and engineer Mark Pipke is an acknowledged expert on materials wear and author of the "Development of Wear Materials" handbook.
